Ensure the quote covers everything - Read it carefully - Are all the windows you want to open marked as opening? - What kind of reinstatement to decor is offered? - Is VAT included - Who's going to put the curtain rails back up?
Check any guarantee thoroughly - a guarantee is worthless if the company goes bust unless it's backed by an insurance company.
Shop around for credit - If you are buying your replacement windows or conservatory on credit, check the APR - Would a loan be cheaper?
 
Go with the first company to quote for the work before you've had a chance to compare prices and specifications.
Pay more than a nominal deposit before the work has started.
Let yourself be pressured into signing up with anyone by special discounts or deals that 'are only available today' . You'll almost certainly get the same or even a better deal if you wait.
