Double Glazing Do's and Dont's

Do’s   Dont’s
Get a minimum of three quotes. Don't be scared to ask for a discount or extras - They want your business. If you want free stained glass or a cat door fitted - ask!
Ask to see examples of previous work that the company has carried out.
Ensure the quote covers everything - Read it carefully - Are all the windows you want to open marked as opening? - What kind of reinstatement to decor is offered? - Is VAT included - Who's going to put the curtain rails back up?
Check any guarantee thoroughly - a guarantee is worthless if the company goes bust unless it's backed by an insurance company.
Shop around for credit - If you are buying your replacement windows or conservatory on credit, check the APR - Would a loan be cheaper?

Go with the first company to quote for the work before you've had a chance to compare prices and specifications.

Pay more than a nominal deposit before the work has started.
Let yourself be pressured into signing up with anyone by special discounts or deals that 'are only available today' . You'll almost certainly get the same or even a better deal if you wait.

Sign any document unless you’ve read it thoroughly and understand all the terms. If it's a credit agreement remember you are allowed a 'cooling off' period if it was signed in your home.

Pay for the job untill you are happy with it - Inspect the installation - Do all the doors and windows open and close properly? - Has everything been reinstated? Are the frames properly sealed into the walls? Remember - it's much easier to get someone to fix it if you still owe them money...

There is no charge, no obligation and it puts you in the driving seat. Why phone around and have to put up with pushy salespeople quoting high prices when you can get
local companies to estimate against each other and drive prices down....Try us - it works.
